RSRT Counsellor

Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Newry

Inspire Wellbeing is recruiting a compassionate and driven RSRT Counsellor to join our Mental Health & Addiction Services team working on the 'Right Support Right Time' project. This is a cross border initiative delivered by Inspire in partnership with Mencap, Cedar, Apex, Respond, DePaul and the Red Cross. This is an exciting opportunity to provide time-limited counselling interventions and co-facilitate structured psychoeducational groups for adults and children within community-based services whilst being involved in creating a person-centred mental health service free from traditional systemic and operational barriers and creating a trauma informed community focused mental health service model embedded within international peace building best practice.

The Right Support, Right Time project is supported by the PEACEPLUS Programme, managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB)

What You’ll Bring

To be shortlisted, you’ll need:

  • A Professional Diploma in Counselling covering psycho-dynamic, CBT and humanistic models of intervention or a person-centred approach AND accredited membership with voluntary assured professional standards governing bodies (e.g., BACP, BABCP, NCPS Professional Registrant Accreditation, UKCP or equivalent).
  • A minimum of 300 supervised post-qualification hours (either paid or voluntary) providing counselling or structured emotional support.
  • Experience of working with Adults/ children impacted by Addictions and self harm.
  • Demonstrable knowledge and confident application of evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), within complex and diverse clinical presentations.
  • Experience or demonstrable understanding of non-abstinence, recovery-oriented approaches to substance misuse and self-harming behaviours.
  • A full current driving licence and access to a car (or reasonable adjustments where applicable)
  • Flexibility to work across various locations.

What You'll Receive

  • Salary: £32,708 – £37,964.53 (Higher than the current NHS Band 5 equivalent)
  • Benefits include:
