Counter Fraud Specialist

Counter Fraud Specialist – Full-time

About the Role

Did you know that the NHS is vulnerable to over £1.3 billion worth of fraud each year? This critical role ensures that valuable NHS resources are directed towards patient care rather than personal gain.

As part of a team of accredited counter fraud specialists, you’ll lead a wide range of proactive and reactive investigations across multiple NHS and care clients. Key responsibilities may include:

  • Delivering a proactive counter fraud work plan
  • Conducting investigations within agreed deadlines
  • Assisting investigation officers as needed
  • Providing expert guidance on financial crime matters

Note on Qualifications: If you don’t already hold GCFP membership or the accredited counter fraud specialist qualification, you may be offered training as part of the role.

Flexible Working: Due to the nature of this role, it can be performed remotely. Reasonable adjustments will be made to accommodate disabled candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver a broad proactive counter fraud strategy, including risk assessments, intelligence gathering, and fraud prevention initiatives.
  • Conduct investigative work within deadlines, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Provide specialist advice on financial crime, fraud trends, and mitigation strategies.
  • Work collaboratively with investigation officers and multidisciplinary teams to tackle fraudulent activities.
  • Balance competing priorities in often challenging and high-pressure environments.
  • Demonstrate AuditOne’s values of Trust, Respect, Quality, and Innovation in daily work.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
