Counter Manager – Part-Time (30 Hours) in M&S Hedge End
About the Role
At Benefit Cosmetics, we’re glowing—and growing by making real connections. We’re currently looking for a Part-Time 30-Hour Counter Manager over five days to drive sales and deliver award-winning customer experiences at our Marks & Spencer Hedge End location.
As a Counter Manager, you’ll:
- Hit challenging sales targets by leading a team of Brow and Beauty Experts
- Create standout customer experiences that foster loyalty and repeat business
Responsibilities
Your role is performance-driven and varied. Key tasks include:

Sales Management
- Lead, motivate, and empower the team to exceed individual and counter sales targets
- Delegate tasks effectively to maximise productivity and service excellence

Target-Driven Sales
- Build deep customer connections through passionate product demonstrations
- Consistently meet (or surpass) personal sales goals and contribute to overall counter success

Teamwork & Motivation
- Lead engaging daily team meetings to align the team around goals
- Foster open communication, recognise achievements, and drive collaborative growth

Business Growth & Innovation
- Strategically plan in-store events, product launches, collaborations, and charity initiatives
- Boost sales and brand awareness through high-impact promotional activities

Stock Optimisation
- Maintain a neat, fully stocked counter to prevent lost sales
- Monitor inventory closely and promptly escalate concerns to the Area Manager

Communication Leadership
- Bridge critical information between Store/Department Managers and Area Managers
- Ensure seamless knowledge-sharing for team retention and operational efficiency

Administration Efficiency
- Manage daily, weekly, monthly, and annual administrative tasks to support smooth operations

Staff Scheduling
- Craft fair, efficient staff rotas that maximise coverage and align with sales objectives

Brand Presentation
- Uphold exceptional hygiene and housekeeping standards
- Keep displays visually compelling and inviting for shoppers
Qualifications & Requirements
We’re seeking a dynamic, passionate collaborative leader with:
- A minimum of 2–4 years in customer service, preferably in retail or hospitality
- At least 6 months of management or people leadership experience
- Proven sales-driven skills and a flair for customer-focused solutions
- A make-up and retail expert with an eye for uncovering new sales opportunities
- Flexibility to work weekends, evening shifts, bank holidays, and major buying periods
