DSL Group is a leading global shipping company specializing in container shipping, NVOCC services, freight solutions, and end-to-end supply chain services. As part of our continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced Country Manager to lead and grow our UK operations.
Job Summary
The Country Manager will be responsible for the overall management of the UK business, driving commercial growth, operational excellence, and financial performance. The successful candidate will lead business development initiatives, manage key customer relationships, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure alignment with the Group's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the country business strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth targets.
- Lead and manage all commercial, operational, and administrative activities within the UK.
- Identify new business opportunities and expand the customer portfolio.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, shipping lines, agents, and strategic partners.
- Oversee shipping operations to ensure high service standards, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage the country's financial performance, including budgeting, P&L, cost control, and revenue growth.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, local regulations, and international shipping standards.
- Recruit, lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Monitor business performance through KPIs and implement strategies to improve operational and commercial results.
- Prepare regular business reports and provide strategic recommendations to senior management.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Shipping, Maritime Studies, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the shipping or maritime industry.
- At least 4 years in a senior leadership role, preferably as a Country Manager, General Manager, Branch Manager, or Commercial Manager.
- Strong understanding of container shipping, NVOCC operations, freight forwarding, and international trade.
- Proven experience in business development, P&L management, and leading cross-functional teams.
- Deep understanding of the UK market, including key regulations, industry trends, and customer needs.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
