Bank Courier Driver
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Bank Courier Driver to join our Bank team based in Hull, working out of any of our 3 bases in Hull, Willerby and Beverley.
This role is a bank (zero hour) position. Working hours can be Monday to Friday between 05.30 - 22.30 with weekend and bank holiday opportunities available between 08:00 and 20:00. Shift patterns will be discussed at interview stage.
Purpose of the Role
The main purpose of this courier driver role will be to contribute to the safe and timely movement and transportation of goods and equipment.
Main Duties
The role will require excellent communication skills with customers, colleagues and other stakeholders to maintain the highest standards. Using electronic and paper-based forms of recording jobs and items delivered and collected, making sure that all courier jobs are carried out correctly and to scheduled times.
The role involves heavy lifting/manual handling of equipment and goods, driving a Luton 3.5 tonne box van, using a tail lift and moving trolleys and other large items.

Main Responsibilities
- Carry out courier journeys to various locations and to agreed routes and timings.
- Complete digital and manual documentation required by both legislation and organisational procedures.
- Maintain regular contact with the operations office using a range of communication systems.
- Ensure all items are kept safe and secure at all times.
- Comply at all times with the Road Traffic Act while driving and other relevant legislation connected to the vehicle.
- Act as customer contact at delivery points of service, and relay relevant information to the operations office.
- Complete vehicle checks prior to use, and to notify any defects to the Operations Office verbally and by recording on appropriate documentation.
- To act in a polite and courteous manner to customers and road users at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
We would like to hear from you if you:
- Hold a Full UK manual driving licence with a B1 with less than 6 points.
- The ability to work on own initiative.
- Must be able to plan routes effectively.
- Must be a good communicator.
- Customer focused.
- Are able to remain calm under pressure.
- Can pay attention to detail.
- Must be able to use a PDA, (however training will be given).
