Course Director - Foundation School - Level 3

Course Director – Level 3 Business Management & Hospitality & Event Management (June 2025 Intake)

LCCA (London College of Creative Arts)


This is a pivotal academic leadership role at LCCA, responsible for the quality, performance, and day-to-day management of the Level 3 Business Management and Hospitality and Event Management cohorts.

Focusing specifically on one intake period, you will lead these students through a vocationally led curriculum designed to mirror the standards of the global business and service sectors. Working within a collaborative team of Course Directors, you will ensure that the LCCA student journey is seamless, professional, and directly aligned with the evolving needs of the hospitality and business industries.


About The Role

As Course Director for the June Level 3 intake, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure high student retention and professional success across the Business and Hospitality pathways. You will oversee academic governance, including internal and external metrics and exam board preparation, while leading a teaching team to deliver industry-aligned, vocationally-led instruction.

Working closely with the Academic Dean and fellow directors, you will manage day-to-day operations across flexible delivery modes, fostering an inclusive environment that equips a diverse student body for immediate impact in the global service sector.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Cohort Management

  • Take full accountability for the specific Level 3 intake, driving:
    • Student retention
    • Success metrics
    • Daily operations across flexible delivery modes (including evenings and weekends).

Quality Assurance & Governance

  • Oversee the integrity of the Level 3 provision by:
    • Leading annual monitoring
    • Chairing course committees
    • Ensuring assessments and internal processes meet external and institutional standards.

Industry-Aligned Curriculum Delivery

  • Ensure teaching and learning reflects:
    • Current global trends in Business and Hospitality
    • A vocationally-led environment preparing students for industry leadership.

Team Mentorship & Collaboration

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of academic staff.
  • Work synchronously with fellow Course Directors to ensure a seamless and professional student journey.

Requirements

Essential

  • Relevant undergraduate and postgraduate qualification (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience in:
    • Teaching and assessing in Higher Education.
    • Leading and managing:
      • Education (people, curriculum, quality & standards, students, and recruitment).
      • Assessment design and feedback practice.
  • Ability to:
    • Analyse and act on performance data to improve retention and attainment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to:
    • Motivate and develop teams.

Desirable

  • Fellowship (or Senior Fellowship) of the Higher Education Academy.
  • PhD or higher-level research degree.
  • Teaching qualification (or willingness to complete a PGCert in Education during employment).
  • Evidence of:
    • Research, knowledge exchange, or professional practice aligned to Business and Entrepreneurship.
