About the Role
This is a key role within our Construction & Trades team and will suit an ambitious education professional who can combine excellent teaching practice with curriculum leadership, quality assurance and industry engagement. Due to the specialist nature of the post, successful teaching experience is essential and candidates must be able to demonstrate a strong track record of delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that leads to outstanding learner outcomes.
As Course Leader, you will teach on Brickwork programmes while taking responsibility for the leadership and quality of the curriculum area. You will lead on:
- Course administration
- Assessment planning
- Quality assurance processes
- Curriculum development
- Learner achievement
Compensation £40,064 – £45,222 / year

Key Responsibilities
Working closely with the Curriculum Manager, you will:
- Deliver outstanding teaching and learning across Level 1–3 Brickwork programmes.
- Lead:
- Quality assurance activities (including assessment schedules, internal verification, and qualification claims).
- Curriculum development and refresher training aligned to industry needs.
- Monitor learner progress, attendance, and achievement to ensure high expectations.
- Build strong relationships with employers and industry partners to ensure an employer-led curriculum.
- Support students’ personal development, employability skills, and progression.
- Promote excellence in teaching practice, ensuring knowledge-sharing across the team.
Essential Criteria
- Minimum Level 3 qualification in Brickwork or a relevant vocational area.
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, Certificate in Education, or equivalent).
- Proven successful teaching experience across Levels 1–3.
- Recent industry experience within the construction/brickwork sector(al).
- Strong knowledge of:
- Vocal assessment practices
- Quality assurance procedures
- Awarding body requirements
- Ability to inspire, motivate and challenge learners to maximise their potential (proven track record required).
