Hours: 32 per week

Salary: £26,403 - £28,142 pro rata Actual Salary: £19,553 - £20,841


About the Role

At St Edward’s School, we are a high-performing institution with a strong cover team. As a well-subscribed school known for our supportive and challenging approach to learning, we are seeking a Cover Supervisor to join a creative and collaborative team.

This role enables meaningful engagement with learners and equips you with essential skills applicable to a future teaching career. Many Cover Supervisors have progressed into teacher training and teaching roles. Graduates exploring a career in teaching are especially welcome to apply.

Your responsibilities will include ensuring safe, positive, and effective learning environments for pupils, supported by a team committed to securing outstanding futures for young people.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support pupils by maintaining a safe and engaging environment in mentor groups or all-year-group classes.
  • Work closely with teachers, enhancing classroom experiences through collective efforts.
  • Collaborate with the cover team and pastoral team to ensure excellence in care, support, and learning.
  • Monitor behaviour and contribute to improvement strategies across the school.

Requirements

  • Enthusiasm for working with young people.
  • Experience of, or training towards, working in education will be beneficial.
  • Willingness to support training and professional development opportunities (including teacher training).
