Cover Supervisor
Cover Supervisor – Temporary, Part-Time Role (Pointes 9-13, £20,151.60–£29,064 FTE)
Contract Type: Temporary, Part-Time (FTE: £20,151.60–£29,064, subject to pro rata) Location: The Vale Academy, Brigg, North Lincolnshire Start Date: September 2026 Experience Level: Basic/Associate
About the Role
The Vale Academy is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and supportive Cover Supervisor to join their team on a temporary, part-time basis for the 2026/27 academic year.
This role is crucial to maintaining smooth operations within the academy, ensuring continuity of learning when teachers are absent, and providing pupil support across multiple classes. This is a great opportunity for individuals with classroom-based experience to contribute to the academy’s success in one of the most deprived areas of the North of England.
**The Role
As a Cover Supervisor, your core responsibilities include:
- Supervising pupil learning in the absence of teachers, ensuring continuity of education when staff are absent.
- Assisting students with classroom activities under the guidance of the academy team (wherever possible, classroom experience is preferred).
- Supporting behaviour management and maintaining high standards within lessons.
- Providing departmental support when not needed for cover lessons, assisting with preparations, feedback, and administrative tasks.
- Being fully ICT literate, demonstrating competency with key software tools for lesson organisation, communication, and reporting.
Reasons to use Rodeo
I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
