Β£120-150 per day (dependent on experience)

Are you a graduate, aspiring teacher, or experienced Cover Supervisor looking to gain valuable experience in schools?
Milk Education is recruiting Cover Supervisors to work across a range of welcoming secondary schools in Gateshead and the surrounding areas. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals considering a career in teaching or education, or for those with experience working with young people who are passionate about making a positive impact.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and ensure pupils remain engaged with their learning in the absence of their class teacher.
π‘ Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people in an educational, coaching, support work or mentoring setting is desirable
- Degree educated or aspiring teacher (desirable but not essential)
- Confident managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Calm, professional, and adaptable approach
- Passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
- Ability to provide two recent professional references

π― Key Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of secondary subjects
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Ensure pupils remain engaged and on task throughout lessons
- Support students with varying abilities and learning needs
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Provide feedback to teaching staff on pupil engagement and behaviour
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and school policies at all times
