About the Role
We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a warm and compassionate school where every staff member contributes significantly to students’ experience.
- Location: Nottinghamshire
- Salary: £26,403.00 – £28,142.00 per annum (pro rata: £22,671 – £24,164)
- Scale: Scale 4 (Points 7-11)
- Contract: Permanent, Full-Time, Term Time Only
- Closing Date: Friday, 3rd July 2026, 09:00 AM
- Benefits: Pension, healthcare, and Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise students in class in a teacher’s absence, adhering to school policy.
- Assist in preparing learning environments and associated classroom materials.
- Manage student behaviour sustainably to maintain a constructive working environment.
- Respond to student queries about set work and its completion.
- Collect completed work after lessons and manage returns to the correct personnel/places.
- Ensure classrooms are neat and orderly when dismissed.
- Monitor student entry/exit procedures as per school policy.
- Record and report lesson attendance in compliance with school guidelines.
- Assist with exam invigilation under the direction of the exams officer.
- Follow school behaviour policies and document concerns via the agreed referral procedures.
- Immediately address safeguarding emergencies per school policies.
- Supervise morning/afternoon student arrivals/departures from the site.
- Oversee students during lunch time duties, based on rotation schedules.

When no classroom cover is needed, additional duties may include:
- Supporting pupils in lessons (individual/tutoring or small groups).
- Providing pastoral assistance on-call or within the Respect and Responsibilities room.
