Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant (TA) - Grade S4, Scale Points 24–27
Salary:
- Grade Pay: £30,968.00 – £33,540.00
- Actual Salary: £26,517.87 – £28,720.27 (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Hours:
36 hours per week, Term Time Only
Working Hours: Monday to Thursday: 07:30 – 16:00 Friday: 07:30 – 14:30
About the Role
Orchard Hill College & Academy Trust is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant (TA) to support children’s learning and progress within our inclusive school environment. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in young lives.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual or small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), ensuring tailored learning and inclusion.
- Assist teachers in delivering curriculum content, managing classroom resources, and promoting positive behaviour.
- Contribute to the development of pupil behaviour plans, personalised learning programmes, and Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Track and report on pupil progress to enable targeted intervention.
- Promote relationship-building and social skills to support social and emotional development.
- Maintain a strong focus on safeguarding children within your daily duties.
- Admin duties (e.g., lesson preparation, Behaviour Referral Forms, attendance tracking, and safeguarding documentation).
- Work collaboratively with the Inclusion Team, SENCO, and Class Teachers.

Person Specification (Key Qualifications & Experience)
- A strong interest in education, child development and supporting students with SEN.
- Previous experience or knowledge of supporting pupils with additional educational needs is highly desirable (not mandatory).
- Experience using differentiated teaching strategies to engage diverse learning needs.
- Effective written and spoken communication skills with clear verbals and meticulous attention to detail.
- Commitment to inclusion, equality, and diversifying the curriculum.
- Reliability, discretion, flexibility, and the ability to work independently as well as within a team.
- Basic numerical and ICT confidence to support admin tasks effectively.
- A valid DBS Enhanced Disclosure as required by the role.
