Cover Supervisor
35 hours per week, £20,698 - £21,706 pro rated per annum (pay award pending).
We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and confident Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is passionate about supporting their learning, development, and wellbeing.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will supervise classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring that students remain engaged with the work set and maintain high standards of behaviour, attendance, and conduct. You will play a key role in creating a positive learning environment, supporting students to achieve their potential and helping to maintain continuity in their education.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff. They will be adaptable, resilient, and committed to promoting high expectations and a culture of success throughout the school.
This role would suit individuals considering a future career in teaching, education, or youth work, as well as those with experience of working with children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain on task and engaged in their learning.
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school's policies and procedures.
- Establish positive and productive relationships with students, acting as a role model and promoting high expectations.
- Support students' learning by providing guidance and encouragement while fostering independence and resilience.
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student participation, progress, and behaviour.
- Assist in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
- Support the wider life of the school, including break and lunchtime duties, educational visits, and extracurricular activities as required.

Experience of working with children and young people is desirable, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working weeks per year: 38
You will be expected to promote the ethos and values of the school, participate in training and development opportunities, contribute positively to the school community, and attend meetings and events as required.
