Job Summary
CPS Technical Manager
Anord Mardix, a Flex company, are a global group that manufactures switchgear and associated products for installation in mission-critical and live commercial buildings ranging from data centres to the international headquarters of some of the world’s largest companies. To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a CPS Technical Manager located in Hemel Hempstead.
What a typical day looks like:
- Act as the primary technical expert for the CPS Operations and Sales teams, supporting service delivery, customer projects, and business development activities.
- Ensure maintenance, installation, repair, and commissioning activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
- Provide technical guidance and support for complex customer issues, escalations, and non-standard requirements, driving timely resolution and customer satisfaction.
- Attend site surveys to assess technical requirements, identify potential risks, and develop effective service solutions.
- Plan and coordinate the availability of parts, tools, and test equipment required for scheduled service activities.
- Brief Service Engineers and subcontractors on project requirements, technical specifications, RAMS, and safety expectations before works commence.
- Manage the emergency call-out rota, support the training of on-call engineers, and provide technical assistance during critical service situations.
- Review subcontractor RAMS and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Deliver small projects and maintenance works on time and to specification.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and key stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain technical procedures, standards, and documentation to support operational excellence.
- Lead technical investigations, support warranty claims, perform root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support business growth through technical innovation, process improvements, and service enhancements.

The experience we're looking to add to our team:
- City & Guilds Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification (or equivalent) is essential.
- Proven experience working with LV Switchgear or similar Critical Power equipment is essential.
- Strong background in electrical maintenance, service delivery, commissioning, engineering, or operational environments.
- Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Engineering Manager, Service Manager, or similar leadership role is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and support operational teams.
- Experience managing resources, planning workloads, and controlling budgets.
- Strong customer-facing skills with experience resolving technical challenges and managing escalations.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, safe systems of work, and compliance requirements within an engineering environment.
- Experience with Thermal Imaging/Thermography is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience conducting technical investigations and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented, with the ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- HNC/HND, NVQ Level 4/5, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Technical Services, Operations Management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Level 1 Thermography qualification and a current ESC Card are advantageous.
- Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
