Salary: From £30,150 plus excellent benefits
Permanent / Full-time – 37 hours per week

We're looking for a Craft Attendant (Jointing) to join our Distribution team based in Cambuslang, supporting activities across the Lanarkshire District. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, thrives in a hands-on environment and wants to build a long-term career within the energy industry.
Working alongside experienced Cable Jointers, you'll play an important role in delivering essential network operations, supporting maintenance, repairs and new connections that help keep the electricity network running safely and efficiently.
What you'll be doing
As a Craft Attendant, you'll provide vital support to our Jointing teams across a variety of operational and project activities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting experienced Cable Jointers with underground cable installation, maintenance and repair activities.
- Supporting the safe and efficient delivery of work on the electricity distribution network.
- Undertaking site preparation activities, including excavation, reinstatement and general groundwork duties.
- Acting as a Safety Attendant in accordance with training, competence and authorisation levels.
- Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements.
- Assisting with the handling, transportation and organisation of tools, materials and equipment.
- Supporting the setup and maintenance of safe work areas on site.
- Recording work activities, material usage and other operational information accurately.
- Reporting any issues, hazards or concerns promptly to supervisors and team members.
- Supporting the management of the district generator fleet, ranging from 6kVA to 100kVA units, ensuring scheduled maintenance activities are completed and any defects or issues are reported promptly.
- Assisting with the transportation, deployment and collection of generators across the district to support planned and emergency works.
- Travelling to sites across the Lanarkshire District to support operational activities as required.
- Participating in training and development activities to build knowledge and progress your skills within the jointing profession.

- Experience in a support, labouring, operational or site-based role within utilities, construction, civil engineering or a similar industry.
- An interest in developing a career within the electrical or utility sector.
- Experience operating, inspecting or maintaining generators, plant or site equipment would be advantageous.
- A strong commitment to health, safety and environmental standards.
- Good communication skills and the confidence to interact professionally with colleagues, contractors and members of the public.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- The flexibility to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
Minimum Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work, including manual handling activities.
- Ability to work safely in a variety of outdoor environments and weather conditions.
- Demonstrable commitment to safe working practices.
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
- Experience towing trailers or equipment would be advantageous, as the role may involve transporting generators between operational sites.
