SCOPE OF ROLE: We’re looking for a passionate and skilled craftsperson to join our Development team at the Rookery. This is a hands-on role where you’ll play a key part in bringing our new season products to life, working closely with the team and getting early exposure to upcoming ranges. You’ll use your technical expertise and attention to detail to help shape new designs into finished pieces, with hand cutting forming a core part of the role. It’s a great opportunity to contribute directly to the creation of Mulberry products and see your work move from concept through to reality. This role is to provide cover for a period of sabbatical leave and will run for approximately 4 months, allowing time for a thorough handover both before and after the leave period. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES · Continuous improvement – Ensure to share your skills and knowledge to support teams and always look for ways to improve processes · Making specifications – Create a coherent making document for production use · Timings – Work with the costings team to ensure an accurate time for new products · Prototypes – Produce working prototypes to tight deadlines, whilst maintaining perfect quality · Showroom Samples – Work flexible hours to achieve deadline for Handover with excellent quality · Press Samples – Products for press events · Production Exotics – Python, Alligator or Ostrich · Special Requests – VIP bags · Trials - New concepts · Production Bags – Stitch TEAM · Participate in team meetings · Work collaboratively with all teams · Communicate well with other team members SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: · Good manual skills · Excellent communication skills · To act as a problem solver · Excellent attention to detail · To be flexible with working hours · Approachable with others · Team player · Ability to work under pressure · Able to assume responsibility for tasks and workload, and work using own initiative Culture: − Embrace and demonstrate the Mulberry values and behaviours: honesty, dynamism, and a community-oriented spirit. − Support Mulberry to deliver an inclusive culture, through behaving in a way that is open-minded and respectful towards others, and understanding that your views, opinions, and experiences may not always be shared by your colleagues. − Act as an ambassador for Mulberry and communicate positively about the brand.
