Crane Engineer
Overhead Crane Engineer required
Our client is a leading specialist in heavy lifting equipment and overhead crane systems. Established in the 1980s, they are a highly respected and well-established business within the lifting industry. Due to continued growth, ongoing success, and recent contract wins, they are now seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Engineer to join their expanding team.
The company supplies and services a wide range of lifting equipment, including:
- New and used overhead travelling cranes
- Goliath and semi-goliath cranes
- Swing jibs
- Electric chain hoists
In addition to sales, they provide full servicing, maintenance, repairs, installations, modifications, and removals of lifting systems across a variety of industrial environments.
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Service, maintenance, and breakdown support on overhead and gantry cranes
- Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repairs
- Inspection, testing, and commissioning of lifting equipment (where required)
- Installation, upgrades, and modifications to crane systems
- Working safely on customer sites within industrial and manufacturing environments
- Completing service reports and associated documentation accurately
- Providing excellent customer service and technical support on-site
- Participating in call-out work and overtime when required

Requirements
You will need:
- Previous experience working on overhead cranes, hoists, or lifting equipment
- Strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding skills
- Experience with servicing, maintenance, and breakdown repairs
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and technical documentation
- A full UK driving licence
- Comfort with working at height and within industrial environments
- Good communication and organisational skills
- Relevant engineering qualifications or lifting industry certifications are advantageous
- Knowledge of LOLER regulations and crane inspection procedures (desirable)

Remuneration & Benefits
- Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 (depending on experience)
- Hours: Monday - Friday, 39 hours per week
- Holidays: 28 days, including bank holidays
- Overtime available
- Company pension scheme
