Hoist UK is a well established UK manufacturer and supplier of hoists, cranes and lifting equipment, serving both the industrial and entertainment sectors.

We are looking for Crane & Lifting Equipment Installation & Service Engineers to join our growing team.

Whether you already have experience within the lifting industry or have a strong electromechanical background and are looking to develop your career, Hoist UK offers structured training and a clear progression pathway.

Our engineers work on a wide variety of lifting equipment projects across industrial manufacturing, entertainment and specialist engineering sectors. No two weeks are the same, providing the opportunity to develop a broad range of technical skills while working alongside an experienced engineering team.

The Role

The role primarily involves the installation and commissioning of lifting equipment manufactured and supplied by Hoist UK, together with repairs, inspections, servicing and maintenance at customer sites throughout the UK.

Depending on operational requirements, there will also be workshop activities at our Wirral facility. A fully equipped company van is provided for business use.

  • Electrical or electromechanical background.
  • Experience installing, maintaining or servicing electromechanical equipment.
  • Full UK manual driving licence.
  • Ability and willingness to travel throughout the UK.
  • Willingness to work away from home where overnight stays are required.
  • Self motivated with the ability to solve technical problems on site.
  • Professional approach with excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Physically fit and comfortable working at height.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety.

Desirable

  • Experience within the lifting equipment industry.
  • Electrical fault finding on electromechanical equipment.
  • Experience of industrial three phase electrical systems.
  • Experience with low voltage control systems.
  • Ability to interpret electrical schematics.
  • Inspection, servicing and repair of cranes and lifting equipment.
  • Experience carrying out LOLER thorough examinations.

As a full member of the Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA), Hoist UK is committed to developing its engineers.

We provide structured technical training, support engineers in achieving and maintaining LEEA qualifications, and offer a clearly defined development pathway with opportunities to progress as your skills, qualifications and responsibilities grow.

  • Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday, 08:00 to 17:00, and Friday, 08:00 to 14:30. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is required to meet customer and operational requirements.
  • 20 days annual leave plus bank holidays, increasing by one day per year of service to a maximum of 25 days.
  • Company pension scheme with employer contributions.

  • Contractual sick pay after one year's service.
  • Team building events throughout the year.

This is a permanent position, subject to successful completion of the probationary period. An immediate start is available.
