Job Title: Creative Classroom Assistant

Location: Whickham
Hours: 8:30–15:30, Monday – Friday
Start: September
Pay: £107.71 (Based on 6.5-hour day rate)

Are you a creative, energetic and caring individual who loves inspiring young minds? Whether you have experience as a Teaching Assistant, Childcare Practitioner, Youth Worker, Sports Coach, Performing Arts Graduate or simply have a passion for supporting children, we would love to hear from you.

Milk Education is seeking enthusiastic Creative Classroom Assistants to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 in welcoming primary schools throughout Sunderland and South Tyneside. Opportunities are available on both a part-time and full-time basis, with flexible supply work, long-term placements and permanent opportunities available.

We are also supporting a number of partner schools with their September recruitment plans, making this a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to gain classroom experience or secure their next long-term role.

The Role of a Creative Classroom Assistant

As a Creative Classroom Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging lessons and enriching learning experiences for pupils across primary age groups. Your creativity, energy and positive attitude will help create an environment where children feel motivated, supported and ready to succeed.

Responsibilities of a Creative Classroom Assistant

  • Supporting the class teacher with lessons and classroom activities
  • Delivering creative interventions and engaging learning experiences
  • Working with small groups or individual pupils to boost confidence and attainment
  • Encouraging participation through creative, practical and interactive activities
  • Supporting children with additional learning needs where required
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Helping to create a safe, inclusive and inspiring learning environment
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and families

Many of our Creative Classroom Assistants progress from temporary to permanent school-based roles through Milk Education.

This Creative Classroom Assistant role is ideal for:

  • Teaching Assistants and Learning Support Assistants
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Childcare Practitioners
  • Sports Coaches and Activity Leaders
  • Drama, Dance, Music, Art, and Psychology Graduates
  • Youth Workers and Community Support Workers
  • Individuals with a creative approach to engaging children
  • Anyone passionate about supporting children's learning, confidence and development
