Really Bright Media

Really Bright Media is a creative film studio based in Newington Green, London. We work with global brands and influential voices to produce TVCs, brand campaigns, corporate films, music videos, podcasts, documentaries, and original projects - conceived by our team members.

Recent clients include Mondelez International, AWS, Service 95, King's College London, Macmillan, alongside a strong track record with names like Microsoft, Unilever, Pepsico, Spotify and more.

We’re a close knit team of 14, and we’re looking for a Creative Director to lead the creative team and help set the bar for everything we make.

This role sits right at the heart of the studio.

You would be the direct line manager for a team of six (two motion designers, four filmmakers), the person they come to for notes, problem solving and creative backup. Ideas pass through you from first brief to final cut. You would get hands-on when a project calls for it, and be in the room with clients pitching concepts and building relationships that last. Our Head of Production owns scheduling and resourcing, so your energy stays where it matters most: the work and the people making it.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

We want someone sharp, generous with their team and genuinely excited about this being a step up into creative leadership, with real room to grow from here. Our ECD and senior filmmakers are on hand to support the biggest directing jobs, so you’re never expected to carry a flagship shoot entirely on your own.

The role, in a nutshell...

  • Creative and technical lead for a team of six.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing them day to day.
  • Shaping creative strategy and ideation from brief to delivery.
  • Writing scripts, treatments, proposals and pitch decks.
  • Producing style frames, storyboards and brand strategy.
  • Pitching concepts to clients and running internal brainstorms.
  • Directing films where it makes sense, with senior support on the biggest projects.
  • Keeping a close eye on creative quality through post production.
  • Supporting account management and helping grow key relationships.
  • Helping set and maintain the creative standard across the studio.

What you bring to RBM...

  • A directing reel with solid, confident craft. You don’t need a flagship ad campaign under your belt, but your team needs to trust your eye and your notes.
  • Strong design foundations and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Solid post production knowledge, comfortable enough with edit, grade, sound and delivery to give useful notes and catch problems early.
  • A working knowledge of animation and motion design, enough to brief, direct and give a credible critique.
  • Some experience managing or mentoring people, even informally.
  • Confidence presenting and pitching to clients, including senior stakeholders.
  • A working understanding of production budgets and scheduling, enough to pitch something realistic (our Head of Production owns the detail).
  • Genuine enthusiasm for corporate, brand and artistic work alike. You don’t see these as separate lanes.
