Creative Director (Artsy & Artnet)
About Us
Artsy and Artnet have merged under shared leadership and vision, combining the art world’s most influential online platforms. Together, they maintain their strengths—Artnet as the trusted destination for auctions, data, and market intelligence; Artsy as the leader in personalized art discovery, storytelling, and seamless collecting experiences.

The Role
Brand drives how people experience Artsy and Artnet’s product, mission, and identity in the art world. We’re seeking a Creative Director to define and evolve our visual and strategic presence—a pivotal moment for both brands.
This hybrid strategy, craft, and systems-focused role requires sharp advocacy across:
- Brand architecture & positioning
- Visual identity systems
- Campaign development & execution
- Activations across every touchpoint
You’ll partner with Growth Marketing, Content, and Product Leadership while directing a small but impactful creative function. This team shapes how Artsy and Artnet engage collectors, galleries, artists, and the broader cultural ecosystem.
London/NYC-based (3 days per week in office), reporting to VP of Marketing & Content.
What This Role Demands
A blend of three core priorities:
- Strategy – Shape brand positioning and architecture.
- Craft – Lead direction over collaboration (visually distinct, emotionally resonant work; direct portfolio collaborators).
- Systems – Distill intuition into directional frameworks—design systems, AI-augmented workflows, scalability that preserves quality and speed.
This isn’t just branding—it’s reinventing how leading art-world brands communicate and captivate.
Your Responsibilities
Strategy & Direction
- Define and execute visual identities, campaigns, and positioning across all customer touchpoints (verbal, digital, physical).
- Oversee Artnet & Artsy’s unified—or distinct—brand expression, ensuring consistency and distinction.
- Work with stakeholders to evolve brand storytelling, equity, and cultural relevance.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

- Leadership experience: Proven track record in:
- Leading brand + visual identity initiatives from architecture to campaign activation.
- Balancing strategy and hands-on creative execution.
