Creative Graphic Designer/Illustrator
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne Contract: Fixed Term

We are looking for a Creative Graphic Designer to join our Creative Team at our Mayborn HQ on a fixed-term basis.
About the Role
Working as part of the Creative Team, you will be responsible for the production of forward-thinking, trend-driven, and ownable colour and decoration-based designs across a variety of products and categories.
Working closely with the Creative CMF Lead, your role will be pivotal in creating new, forward-thinking products. This includes:
- Developing product collections
- Understanding the commerciality of product ranges
- Driving our brand aesthetics across the product portfolio
- Taking the lead on style and design of the business and influencing product development.
- Demonstrating a strong familiarity with our brand aesthetic and a focus on our target consumers.
- Bringing originality and creativity to the team, regularly presenting new ideas to key internal stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Working within Adobe Software.

Creating product renders to bring designs to life.

Regularly contributing to product design, including:
- Developing graphics and prints
- Producing unique colourways
- Collaborating with industrial design teams on materials and finishes.

Interpreting and executing briefs while leveraging annual trends to enhance your work.

Producing ownable colour and decoration designs and crafting trend-based products tailored for retailer exclusives.

Collaborating internally with product category teams, project and product managers, and factories to ensure seamless project delivery.

Assisting in representing the brand through design work for each category.

Keeping up with market trends, both within the baby products industry and across competitors globally.

Inspiring the business on the importance of style and design to maintain leadership in the brand’s positioning.

Generating brand love and elevating the appeal of our products across multiple categories.

Ensuring all designs adhere to the brand’s Visual Brand Language (VBL) for a cohesive and consistent feel.

Key Skills and Experience Required
- Experience in creating illustrations for physical products (desirable).
- Ability to act as a creative thinker and problem solver.
- Skills in AI programming and product rendering.
- Strong proficiency in Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Ability to project and render product designs according to specifications with applying graphics and artwork.
- Willingness and ability to receive, interpret, and apply constructive feedback.
- A degree-level qualification in graphic design.
- Previous experience in graphic product design.
- Demonstrated commercial understanding, including a proven history of launching consumer products or brands.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.
- Knowledge and experience in designing for product, and preferably from a brand background.
