Company Overview

At Cowshed Collective our mission is to create pioneering content that builds communities, drive culture and challenges tradition. We want to entertain audiences, wherever they are, by making what they actually want to watch. We have a shared purpose, to build the new era of entertainment.

Role Overview

The Creative Strategist is responsible for turning client and media briefs into smart, social-first campaign ideas. You will sit between strategy, creative, influencer planning, social content and client response, helping to understand the why behind the work, shape the creative idea, recommend the right creators, define where content should live, and develop ideas until they can be pitched, sold and produced. This is a hands-on established midweight role for someone who can own the thinking, build strong decks and move work forward independently.

Responsibilities

Brief responses & insight

  • Take client and media briefs and independently shape clear strategic responses.
  • Understand the brand challenge, audience, platform opportunity, commercial context and what the work needs to achieve.
  • Identify useful insights from audience behaviour, social trends, creator culture, YouTube habits, category conventions, platform behaviour, brand tensions and cultural moments.
  • Turn messy starting points into a clear strategic point of view: what we think, why it matters, what the opportunity is, and how the idea answers the brief.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Social-first ideas & campaign development

  • Develop social-first campaign ideas across creator partnerships, branded content, YouTube formats, TikTok/Instagram ideas, short-form edits, content series and paid-social assets.
  • Build out the hook, mechanic, role of the brand, role of the creator, content outputs and why the audience would care.
  • Work with the Creative Lead to sharpen creative while confidently generating ideas and bringing strong starting points to the table.
  • Balance brand messaging with creative credibility so ideas feel natural, relevant and not overly branded.

Creator, influencer & YouTube thinking

  • Recommend which creators, influencers or YouTubers are right for a campaign, and explain why.
  • Assess audience fit, content style, credibility, tone of voice, platform relevance, brand safety, community, format and the role each creator plays in the bigger idea.
  • Think beyond reach or follower count to make creator recommendations that make strategic and creative sense.

Platform, paid & production thinking

  • Consider where content should live and how it should travel across YouTube, YouTube Shorts, TikTok, Instagram Reels, creator channels, brand channels, paid social, creator boosting, whitelisting, cutdowns and content journeys.
  • Understand how a creative idea changes depending on where people see it, without needing to plan or buy paid media.
  • Turn approved ideas into creator briefs, campaign treatments, content structures, episode outlines, scripts, hooks, shot ideas, messaging frameworks, content matrices and deliverables.
  • Work closely with the Creative Lead and producers to make sure the idea survives the journey from pitch to production.
