Credit Risk Analyst (Credit Risk Analyst II) – EMEA Portfolio Management/Underwriting

Location: London office only – Hybrid working option available

Make your mark at one of the biggest names in payments. We’re looking for an experienced Credit Risk Analyst to join our ever-evolving Credit Risk team and help drive growth across our EMEA customer base through underwriting and portfolio management.

You will primarily operate from our London office, with the option to work hybrid. Your responsibilities will span credit underwriting for new corporate clients and full-cycle credit risk management of assigned merchant portfolios for EMEA customers.


What You’ll Own as a Credit Risk Analyst II

For Underwriting:

  • Perform financial assessments of high-value corporate clients, aligning with commercial teams to maximise onboarding.
  • Develop clear, concise recommendations for decision-making while engaging with sanctioning authorities.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and prospective clients to communicate and enforce credit approval conditions.

For Portfolio Management:

  • Conduct in-depth credit reviews, analysing financial statements and monitoring assigned merchant portfolios.
  • Address credit risk alerts, triggers, and customer requests for new products/services, proactively adjusting limits and mitigating risk.
  • Manage financial distress scenarios to minimise loss exposure.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Undertaking credit risk reviews for new or existing clients.
  • Collaborating with commercial teams to resolve challenges, optimising onboarding.
  • Managing portfolio limits, responding to alerts/events, and escalating risks.
  • Working with the Legal team to negotiate and review bespoke contracts.
  • Driving process improvements through observations and optimisation.
  • Supporting ad-hoc initiatives aimed at controlling credit risk exposure.

What You’ll Bring to the Team

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in credit risk, financial analysis, or equivalent credit decision-making roles.
  • Exceptional communicative abilities—ability to simplify complex credit recommendations for non-specialists and clients.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address both new opportunities and high-risk distress scenarios.
  • Proficiency in English (spoken/written) and expert knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to prioritise, work autonomously, and operate effectively under tight deadlines.
