Credit Control Administrator (6 Month Fixed-Term Contract)
Location: Croydon (Hybrid Working)
Contract: 6 Month Fixed-Term Contract (Maternity Cover)
Working Pattern: Full Time
Hybrid working:
- 2 days per week in the Croydon office (Wednesday and Thursday)
- Remaining days working from home
Standard hours: 9am to 5pm, with some flexibility available

Our After the Event (ATE) team works closely with law firms, insurers, and industry partners to provide exceptional service while supporting access to justice.
We're now looking for a highly organised and detail-focused Credit Control Administrator to join the team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, supporting us during a period of maternity leave cover. Whether you already have Credit Control experience or you're an experienced Administrator with exposure to finance, accounts, payments, or reconciliations, we'd love to hear from you.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative and supportive team where you'll play an important role in ensuring premiums are collected accurately, payments are processed efficiently, and customer relationships are maintained to a high standard.
The role is primarily administration and email-based, making it ideal for someone who enjoys structured processes, working with data, and delivering accurate work.
You'll work alongside experienced colleagues, receive full training, and gain exposure to a specialist area of insurance and financial administration.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing credit control administration activities
- Processing and loading payments onto internal systems
- Sending payment reminders and customer chasers
- Managing and responding to shared inbox queries
- Allocating and receipting payments
- Investigating and resolving payment-related queries
- Maintaining accurate records and audit trails
- Supporting debt management and recovery activity
- Working from weekly reports and task allocations
- Liaising with member law firms and business partners
- Supporting continuous improvement across team processes
- Following documented procedures and process guides to ensure accuracy and compliance

What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous administration experience within an office environment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Strong written communication skills
- Good numerical ability and confidence working with financial information
- Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
- Comfortable working within structured processes and procedures
- Ability to manage workload independently while contributing to a team environment
Desirable
- Credit Control experience
- Finance Administration experience
- Accounts Receivable experience
- Payment processing or receipting experience
- Insurance, legal, or professional services experience
Excel Requirements
You'll be using Excel daily, so we're looking for someone comfortable with:
- Filtering and sorting data
- Updating and maintaining spreadsheets
- Working from reports
- Basic data analysis and reconciliation
You do not need advanced Excel skills such as Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, or complex formulas.

If you're a detail-oriented administrator with strong Excel skills and an interest in finance, credit control, or insurance, we'd love to hear from you. Previous Credit Control experience is welcomed but not essential. We are equally interested in speaking with strong administrators who have worked in finance-related or process-driven environments and are looking for their next opportunity.
We're particularly interested in speaking with immediately available candidates, those nearing the end of a fixed-term contract, or experienced administrators with exposure to finance, accounts receivable, payments processing, or credit control.
