Credit Controller (Reformatted Title: Auction Debt Advisor)

Location: Hybrid (2 days a week at office), [Blackbushe/Camberley] Salary: Up to £30,000 + benefits Hours: 40/week (Mon–Fri) Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract (FTC)


About the Role

Join BCA—the UK’s largest B2B used vehicle servicing company, part of Constellation Automotive Group, combining brands like cinch and WeBuyAnyCar.

We’re doubling down on digital transformation and looking for an Auction Debt Advisor to join a fast-growing team. Your focus? Drive timely cash collections through proactive engagement with customers while delivering top-tier service and resolving payment-related queries efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve consistent, high-performing recovery by:

  • Debt Chasing and Engagement
    • Drive payments via phone/email with high-tone customer communication
    • Build relationsip trust to reduce late payments and payment disputes
    • Identify barriers to payment and implement proactive resolution steps
    • Escalate dubious cases through to the Legal Recoveries Manager

  • Legal Action

    • Refer at-risk accounts to third-party legal partners with full details
    • Monitor legal recovery progress and provide operational transparency
    • Seek approval for additional costs where necessary
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency

    • Continuously challenge and enhance debt-collection workflows
    • Prioritise systems streamlining to elevate customer experiences

Experience & Skills

Essential:

  • Proven track record in credit control or debt collection functions (B2B preferred)
  • Exceptional customer relationship-building—ability to negotiate with sensitivity
  • Sharp attention to accuracy in high-volume data management
  • Reliable multi-tasking under pressing deadlines
