Our Finance Department plays a key role in supporting the continued growth of the business. We are currently seeking a proactive Credit Controller to join our team at our headquarters in Newry.

The Role

You will manage a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, minimising credit risk, and supporting cash flow, while maintaining strong and professional relationships with customers. The role offers genuine variety, with exposure to UK, Irish, and European accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage an aged debtor ledger, contacting customers by phone and email to ensure payment within agreed credit terms.
  • Resolve payment queries and disputes promptly, liaising with sales, customer service, and operations teams as required.
  • Negotiate payment plans where appropriate and escalate persistent non-payment in line with company procedures.
  • Assess customer creditworthiness, recommend credit limits, and monitor exposure.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly aged debt reports.
  • Support cash allocation, reconciliations, and month-end processes.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in a credit control, accounts receivable, or similar finance role.
  • A confident and professional communicator with strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle challenging conversations.
  • Strong attention to detail, excellent organisation skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience using accounting or finance systems.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
  • Friday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
