Credit Controller – Permanent Opportunity

About the Role

You’ll ensure efficient credit management, bridging operational needs with financial robustness. The role sits within a refreshed finance function where your role will be explicitly valued, offering real visibility and a chance to shape operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Account Management

    • Monitor a portfolio of customer accounts and enforce timely debt collection against agreed terms
    • Set, adjust, and enforce credit limits while assessing risk and escalating concerns proactively
  • Debt Recovery

    • Conduct professional yet assertive collection efforts via phone, email, and written communication
    • Escalate overdue payments strategically to maintain business relationships

  • Dispute Resolution & Cash Flow

    • Pinpoint invoice errors, ring-fence issues, and resolve disputes collaboratively with internal teams
    • Allocate payments accurately and reconcile customer accounts routinely to reduce discrepancies
  • Operational Reporting & Analytics

    • Generate and interpret aged debt reports, then deliver commentary to support cash flow strategies
    • Collaborate with finance teams to refine collections processes and reduce accrued debts
  • Compliance & Month-End Cross-Functionality

    • Assist in end-of-month closings and ensure adherence to internal controls, audit protocols, and company policies

Requirements & Competencies

Experience & Knowledge

  • Hands-on experience in Credit Control, Accounts Receivable, or equivalent finance capabilities
  • Expertise in credit assessment, debt management, and working capital protection
  • Demonstrated competence in systems: SAP or ERP experience will enhance applications

Skills

  • Client-Facing Acumen: Balance assertiveness with professionalism while managing sensitive transactions
  • Technical Eddie: Troubleshoot financial discrepancies with speed and accuracy
  • Multi-Task Leadership: Balance demand across dozens of accounts without dropping the ball
