Job Summary and Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Rent Arrears Manager, we are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join our rapidly growing Credit Control team in Worthing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contact customers in arrears at regular intervals via telephone, challenging late or non-payment of monthly rent while keeping them informed of contractual obligations, procedures, timings, and available solutions until payment is received.
  • Apply best practice guidelines to achieve consistent, effective rent collection that aligns with both individual and departmental financial targets.
  • Respond efficiently to customer queries, combining compliance processes with proactive problem-solving to find root causes and mediate conflicts for the best outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with colleagues across credit control, property management, branches, and finance teams.
  • Meet and exceed individual financial targets and objectives set by management.
  • Demonstrate and uphold LRG’s core company values in all work.

What We Are Looking For

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong ability to build and sustain relationships, both internally and externally
  • Analytical mindset with meticulous attention to detail
  • Skilled negotiator
  • Proficient time management and prioritisation to handle demanding workloads against deadlines
  • Commercial acumen for problem-solving
  • Confident IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office packages

Desirable (but not essential)

  • Experience in accounts receivable or credit control
  • A professional finance qualification (e.g., AAT preferred)
  • Property sector-related experience
