Credit Controller
Neos Networks offers alternative working arrangements that give employees some flexibility, including office, home, and hybrid working. Base location: Reading, hybrid working (2 days in the office per week)
Salary: Up to £43,000 (depending on experience)
Working Pattern: Permanent Full time with the option of hybrid working
What You’ll Be Doing
As a Credit Controller, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end collections process, ensuring customer payments are received in line with agreed terms and aged debt is actively managed. Key responsibilities include:
- Owning the reporting and tracking of aged debt, providing clear and insightful updates to the Collections Manager
- Developing and managing customer-specific action plans to drive debt recovery
- Proactively chasing outstanding payments via phone and email
- Managing your own ledger and maintaining strong customer relationships
- Resolving disputes and queries by collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders
- Conducting credit checks to assess new and existing customers
- Processing cash allocation and supporting ERP system activities
- Handling invoice and credit note queries from a shared mailbox
- Raising credit notes in line with internal approval processes

What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who combines strong financial awareness with excellent communication and problem-solving skills. You’ll bring:
- Proven experience in credit control or a similar finance role
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels
- Confident negotiation skills and a solutions-focused approach
- Good numerical and analytical ability to track and communicate financial data
- The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- A collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of best practice debt collection processes
- Experience with credit checking tools (e.g. CreditSafe)
- Understanding of how credit control supports wider business performance
Technical Skills
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
- Experience using ERP systems
- Ability to communicate clearly and tailor your approach to different audiences (e.g. customers, Finance, Sales, senior stakeholders)
