Credit Control Executive

Role Purpose
As part of the Credit Control Team located in Swansea, this role provides a valuable contribution to ERS’s mission: establishing and maintaining accurate and efficient premium payment management.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Invoice collection targeting underpayments
- Resolving complex premium queries with clarity and efficiency
- Processing and reporting payments, including broker settlements in accordance with ERS guidelines
- Ensuring meticulous receivable balance reconciliation with broker accounts
Daily work involves collaborating closely with brokers to resolve payment queries, fostering timely issue resolution to prevent payment delays and ensure healthy cash flow across the organisation. This position requires confident professionalism, a proactive approach to customer service, and collaborative interaction with brokers and multiple internal teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Review and report on aged debt while tracking broker collections
- Uphold set standards for timeliness and accuracy
- Reconcile broker settlements against ERS receivable balances
- Identify and resolve queried entries promptly
- Assess and process broker refund requests to prevent debt impact
- Adhere strictly to overdue payment procedures, including early enaction to limit exposure
- Reconcile broker payments accurately and account for all variables
- Conduct credit assessments for workflows and ad-hoc assignments, applying judgment on risk exposure
- Prioritise workload to achieve on-time completion of activities
- Comply with regulatory standards, particularly Treating Customers Fairly (TCF)
- Champion personal development and demonstrate an ethical, professional, and skilled alignment with ERS values
- Perform other duties upon reasonable direction from management
These duties are subject to review and expansion to align with evolving business needs.
Qualifications, Skills, & Experience Required
Essential Criteria
- Microsoft Excel proficiency at intermediate or advanced level
- High verbal and numerical communication skills
- Exceptional accuracy in account reconciliation
- Knowledge of credit control principles
- Prior experience in an accountancy role
- Professional, confident approach with customer service orientated attitude
- Proven proactive with commitment to self-improvement
- Organisation and planning abilities
- Adaptability to navigate change, whether technological, procedural, or personal

Desirable
- B2B (commercial) collections experience
- High-volume account reconciliation experience
- Familiarity with FCA regulations
- AAT/ACCA/CICM qualifications offer a competitive edge
