Credit Controller

Credit Controller – Wholesale Distribution

📍 Sheffield | 💰 Competitive Salary | 🕒 Full-Time

HDM Solar Wholesale is one of the UK’s fastest-growing renewable energy distributors, supplying solar PV, battery storage, EV charging, and associated products to installers nationwide.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Credit Controller to join our finance team.

This is not a traditional accounts role—we are looking for someone who can:

  • Build strong customer relationships
  • Manage credit risk
  • Actively drive cash collection
  • Support continued sales growth

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Managing a portfolio of customer accounts
  • Chasing overdue invoices via telephone and email
  • Reviewing and setting customer credit limits
  • Monitoring customer exposure and payment performance
  • Investigating and resolving invoice disputes
  • Working closely with Sales and Operations teams
  • Producing aged debt and collection reports
  • Supporting credit insurance and credit reference processes
  • Helping to improve systems, reporting, and automation within the credit control function
  • Processing receipts and reconciling the sales ledger

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous Credit Control experience within a B2B environment
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Confidence dealing with customers at all levels
  • Commercial awareness and sound judgement
  • Strong Excel and systems skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently
  • At least 10 years’ experience within wholesale or distribution
