About The Role

The main purpose of this role is to oversee the credit management processes, ensuring efficient operations, preserving customer relations, and minimizing financial risks. You will also work collaboratively across departments, fostering excellent communication and financial understanding within the company.

Duties and Responsibilities

Credit Control Management

  • Develop, implement and monitor credit control systems and policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer payments and credit history.
  • Review and refine the credit risk management framework.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal departments to optimize credit control procedures and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as the credit management liaison with external partners and clients, ensuring efficient communication and issue resolution.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare detailed financial reports related to credit performance and present findings to senior management.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of debtors, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Detail all aged debt more than 120 giving explanations for all.
  • Calculate on a monthly basis, the bad debt provision to be included within the accounts.

Risk Assessment & Mitigation

  • Perform regular credit risk assessments to mitigate potential financial exposure.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the collection of outstanding accounts while maintaining positive customer relationships.

Customer Relationships

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, addressing credit-related inquiries and resolving disputes. Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and support business growth.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and company policies related to credit management. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Location and working hours:

  • Full-time position (37.5 hours per week).
  • Office location: Stuart House, Peterborough (PE1 5DD)
  • Hybrid working - minimum of 2 days per week in office.

Required Skills And Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in credit management or a related role, with a proven track record of managing credit risk and collections.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to interpret financial data and trends.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Familiarity with Sage 200 or other financial management software.

  • Salary: £35,000 per annum.
