Are you a tenacious Credit Controller who enjoys solving problems, influencing stakeholders, and driving results? Do you want a role where your work directly impacts business performance and gives you the opportunity to gain visibility with senior leadership, including the CEO?
We're looking for a proactive and commercially minded Credit Controller to join our Finance team. This isn't just a traditional collections role, it's an opportunity to become a key contributor to the business by improving cash flow, reducing aged debt, identifying process improvements, and helping shape how we manage customer accounts.
This is a role where your ideas will be heard, your achievements will be recognised, and your success will have a tangible impact on the organisation's financial performance.
Why This Opportunity?
This role offers a unique platform to showcase your ability to deliver meaningful business results. You'll work closely with teams across the organisation, helping to resolve issues, improve processes, and drive stronger financial outcomes.
Your work will be highly visible, and you'll have the opportunity to influence key stakeholders and demonstrate the value you can bring to the wider business. If you're someone who enjoys making things better, taking ownership, and being recognised for delivering results, this is the role for you.
What You'll Be Doing
As Credit Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in managing and reducing outstanding debt while helping the business improve its overall cash collection performance.
You'll be responsible for:
- Proactively managing outstanding customer balances and recovering overdue debt.
- Building positive relationships with customers to resolve payment delays, disputes, and account queries.
- Prioritising aged debt and high-risk accounts to maximise cash collection.
- Working with third-party debt recovery agencies and holding them accountable for performance.
- Analysing debt trends and identifying the root causes behind overdue balances.
- Partnering with Sales, Operations, Billing, and Customer Service teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
- Producing insightful reporting on collections performance, aged debt, and recovery activity.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives to reduce debt build-up and improve cash conversion.
- Supporting system, process, and automation improvements that enhance efficiency and customer outcomes.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
