Are you an organised, proactive, and detail-oriented Credit Controller looking to join a well-established and growing criminal defence law firm? TBW Solicitors is seeking a part-time Credit Controller to play a vital role in supporting our financial operations. This position is ideal for someone with strong credit control and accounting experience, particularly within the legal sector, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records.
About the Role
As our Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the firm's Legal Aid credit control processes, ensuring the timely recovery, reconciliation, and monitoring of Legal Aid payments. You will work closely with the finance team to maintain accurate records and provide financial reporting to support the firm's ongoing operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Managing the firm's Legal Aid credit control processes.
- Monitoring and reconciling Legal Aid payments.
- Chasing outstanding balances and resolving payment queries.
- Maintaining accurate accounting records using both manual and electronic systems.
- Producing financial reports and management information.
- Assisting with general finance and accounts administration.
- Liaising with internal teams and external organisations to ensure efficient financial processes.
Essential Skills & Experience
The successful candidate will be:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Proactive and able to work independently.
- Confident working with financial data and reporting.
- An effective communicator with strong problem-solving skills.

You must be proficient in:
- Osprey Case Management System
- Bullseye Accounting Software
- Manual accounting processes
- Microsoft Excel (including reporting and data analysis)
- Financial reporting
Previous experience in legal accounts or credit control, particularly within Criminal Legal Aid, is highly desirable and will be a distinct advantage.
Working Hours
- Part-time – 3 days per week
- Based at our Bexleyheath office.
