From our Livingston office, you will take ownership of the end-to-end credit control process, ensuring invoices are paid on time, disputes are resolved quickly, and customer accounts are well managed.
Working closely with finance and operational teams, you’ll play a critical role in maintaining healthy cash flow and supporting business performance across multiple contracts within the energy and social housing sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively manage a portfolio of customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding debt
- Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external clients to resolve payment queries efficiently
- Monitor aged debt reports, identify risks, and escalate issues as required
- Lead on reconciliation of customer accounts and resolution of billing disputes
- Drive improvements in cash collection performance and debtor days (DSO)
- Issue statements, reminders, and formal communications in line with credit control procedures
- Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate and timely invoicing
- Support month-end processes including reporting on debt position and cash flow forecasting
- Ensure adherence to credit control policies, procedures, and governance standards

Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Credit Controller or Accounts Receivable role, ideally within a fast-paced or high-volume environment
- Strong track record of improving cash collection and managing aged debt
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence and challenge stakeholders professionally
- Excellent attention to detail with strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Strong Excel skills and experience working with finance systems
- Experience within construction, energy, utilities, or social housing sectors is advantageous
