Credit Controller
Credit Controller – Ashtead Hospital
Location: Ashtead, Surrey (KT21 2SB) Pay: £16 per hour PAYE | £18 per hour (Self-Employed) Start: ASAP - Contract until the end of August Full-Time | Monday to Friday | 9:00am–5:00pm
We're recruiting on behalf of Ashtead Hospital for an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team on a full-time, temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in credit control who enjoys building positive relationships while ensuring timely debt recovery and maintaining accurate financial records.
The Role
As a Credit Controller, you'll play a key role in supporting the hospital's finance function by managing outstanding accounts, ensuring prompt payment of invoices, and maintaining excellent relationships with patients, insurers, and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and monitoring outstanding debtor accounts to ensure timely payment.
- Chasing overdue invoices by telephone, email, and written correspondence.
- Allocating incoming payments and reconciling customer accounts.
- Investigating and resolving invoice queries and payment discrepancies.
- Liaising with insurers, patients, and internal departments to resolve outstanding balances.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and updating finance systems.
- Producing aged debt reports and supporting the wider finance team with month-end activities.
- Delivering excellent customer service while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with financial procedures.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Credit Controller or similar accounts receivable role.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to manage a busy workload.
- Experience using finance systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service

What's on Offer?

- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm.
- Immediate start available.
- Contract running until the end of August.
