We’re looking for a Credit Risk Analyst to join the INEOS Acetyls team in Hull. We need highly motivated individuals who want to be part of our growing business.

INEOS Acetyls is a global chemicals business producing acetic acid and a range of derivatives across Europe, Asia, and America. We’re part of INEOS - one of the largest petrochemical companies in the world, employing around 26,000 people across 194 sites in 29 countries.
Our EU business, which is the largest producer of acetic acid, acetic anhydride, and ethyl acetate in Europe. We are the second-largest producer of acetic acid globally across 8 production sites in the US, Europe, and Asia, including 6 JVs.
The products we produce are essential building blocks used in almost every industry, including renewable power, automotive, pharmaceuticals, coatings, and textiles.
Our UK site is also home to the business's global Technology Development and Support Team and is based on the 370-acre Saltend Chemicals Park - a cluster of world-class chemicals and renewable energy businesses at the heart of the UK's energy estuary.

The opportunity
The Credit Risk Analyst supports the business and the Credit function in optimising performance by being solely responsible for providing concise but well-argued credit opinions and ratings on the Acetyls customer base individually and the Global portfolio.
The job holder will use a range of information sourced both from internal and external sources, including customers, commercial teams, and agencies, with the aim of informing the decision-makers with reliable analysis. The role will involve preparing and presenting cases to the Board and their direct reports.

Key Accountabilities
- Champions the INEOS 20 Safety Principles.
- Accountable for the assessment of new customers and the continuing review of the existing customer base – providing a reliable, well-constructed credit opinion and/or rating, which can easily be utilised in onward submissions and presentations to the Credit Manager / Board Members for approvals.
- Shaping the development of assessment processes to fit the balance between appropriate diligence, our risk appetite, and cost environment.
- Being responsible for providing daily operational support to the business in relation to blocked orders and queries from the Commercial team as they arise.
- Regular reporting on the credit metrics and dynamics of the portfolio, highlighting concentrations and / or (potential) movements within said portfolios.
- Lead and maintain good dialogue with the respective sales and business teams to ensure that limits are fit for purpose and that non-financial aspects of your opinions have solid grounding in their business environment.
- Where necessary engage certain customers (with or through the Commercial team) to ensure that appropriate considerations are made of items which may not be disclosed in financial statements.
- Represent the business on selected Control function initiatives and teams.
- Maintain core data points in systems to ensure appropriate controls are in place and that information meets the needs for internal and external reporting.
- Provide coaching in Credit Analysis to members of the Commercial and Finance teams to ensure capabilities are maintained and process improvements are continually achieved.
- Work with other functions to provide information, share knowledge, and understanding of data as and when required.
- Network within the INEOS credit community to manage customers / suppliers to multiple businesses.
- Periodically perform other financial duties, projects, and activities as required by the Acetyls CFO and reporting line, including deputising for the Global Credit and Compliance Manager, and assisting with Customer Due Diligence checks.

About You
- Strong financial and analytical acumen developed through five or more years of equivalent experience in a financial institution or corporate / trading environment. Holding a degree or equivalent qualification would be desirable.
- You will be an expert in understanding the dynamics of credit analysis, and the processes involved in assigning a credit rating.
- You will be well organised and flexible when dealing with regional issues against tight deadlines and differing time zones.
- You will be highly independent and be results-orientated in order to encourage a culture of high data quality through accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and understanding, with good organizational skills with flexibility to meet deadlines.
- You will have strong financial, analytical, and business acumen that translates to thinking commercially in support of continuous business process improvement.
- You will be able to build and maintain strong relationships with customers and Account Managers.
- You will also be required to have well developed PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.) and knowledge of SAP.
