Functional Technical Lead – Credit Risk Engineering
We’re looking for a hands-on Functional Technical Lead to join our Credit Risk engineering team, delivering and evolving a business-critical platform that supports decisioning across mortgages, credit cards, current accounts, loans, and the expansion into business banking. This is a key role at the heart of our technology estate, combining deep technical expertise with leadership to shape scalable, cloud-native solutions that directly impact customer outcomes.
About the Role
You’ll join our Credit Risk engineering team, working on a strategic platform that underpins how we make responsible lending decisions across a wide range of products. The team plays a critical role in enabling safe, scalable, and real-time decisioning, helping us meet customer needs while maintaining a robust risk environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Combine hands-on engineering with technical leadership, contributing to platform design and guiding engineers
- Ensure high-quality delivery across a modern cloud-based architecture
- Collaborate closely with architects, product teams, and stakeholders to deliver resilient, extensible solutions aligned with our long-term strategy
- Support decision-making processes for mortgages, credit cards, current accounts, loans, and business banking
