Crime Solicitor
Criminal Defence Solicitor – Manchester City Centre
About the Role
We are collaborating with a highly regarded, Legal 500 and Chambers-ranked law firm to recruit a Criminal Defence or Duty Solicitor for their expanding Crime team.
An exceptional opportunity to kickstart your career in a supportive and collaborative environment, working on a varied caseload and gaining exposure to advocacy and client representation.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Managing a diverse caseload of criminal defence matters, including private and publicly funded clients
- Attending court hearings and representing clients in police stations
- Conducting advocacy in Magistrates Court (with provided training and support)
- Preparing clear, accurate legal advice and documentation
- Liaising with clients, courts, and third parties to progress cases efficiently
- Supporting senior lawyers and contributing to team objectives
- Ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards

Ideal Candidate
- Qualified Solicitor with prior criminal law experience
- Strong criminal law knowledge and understanding of court procedures
- Exceptional communication and client care skills
- Ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines
- IT proficiency and strong organisational skills
- Proactive, team-focused approach
