Criminal Defence Solicitor (Associate / Senior Associate, 3+ PQE), Bristol, GBP Competitive + Excellent Benefits
An exceptional opportunity for an experienced Criminal Defence Solicitor to join one of the UK's leading specialist regulatory and criminal defence teams. Acting for insurers, corporate clients, and individuals on complex and high-profile matters, this role offers access to market-leading work and genuine long-term career progression. REF: 4578
The Role
Joining a nationally recognised Criminal Defence team, you will handle a varied and challenging caseload encompassing regulatory investigations, criminal prosecutions, and inquests. You will advise clients facing Health and Safety Executive prosecutions, Environment Agency and Local Authority investigations, motor offence prosecutions, including fatal accident cases, as well as matters involving care providers, the CQC, and directors facing criminal or regulatory proceedings. Working alongside recognised experts in the field, you will take responsibility for complex matters from initial instruction through to resolution, whilst also playing an active role in business development, client training, and raising the profile of the team.

The Candidate
Applications are welcomed from Solicitors with at least three years PQE and a strong background in criminal defence and regulatory work. Experience defending Health and Safety Executive prosecutions is essential, alongside excellent advocacy, drafting, and client management skills. You will be commercially aware, technically strong, and capable of managing complex matters with confidence. A collaborative approach, excellent organisational skills, and a genuine interest in developing client relationships and supporting business development initiatives will be key to your success.
