Criminal Justice Support Worker – Turn Around Project
- Location: Derby City
- Hours: 37 per week (Full-time, Permanent)
- Salary: £26,936–£29,033 per annum (dependent on experience)
About the Role The Turn Around Project aims to reduce re-offending among women residing in Derby City and Derbyshire (current areas: Chesterfield, Swadlincote, and Buxton—subject to change). You will provide tailored support through:
- One-to-one casework;
- Group interventions, aligned to individual needs.
Collaborating with our partners in HMPPS, you will design and deliver integrated support packages addressing:
- Accommodation needs
- Mental health
- Education, training & employment
- Drug & alcohol abuse
- Finance, benefits & debt
- Relationship dynamics (often linked to social exclusion and/or offending behaviour)

Responsibilities Key tasks include:
- Managing your own caseload and operating autonomously;
- Adapting support to meet women’s unique challenges;
- Facilitating interventions in relevant areas (see above);
- Acting as a liaison with HMPPS partners;
- Administering project logistics.
Person Specification
- Self-management: Ability to handle caseload independently;
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal, communication and written skills
- Sound organisational and IT proficiency
- Resilience to perform under pressure;
- Licence & transport: Must hold a clean driving licence and have access to a reliable work vehicle;
- Note: Scheduled HMPPS vetting required;
- Experience: Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous.
- Vetting: An Enhanced DBS check is mandatory.
