Critical Cooling Project Lead – HVAC / Data Centres Location: UK (London, South East, Midlands)
About the Role
We are expanding our UK Services team and are seeking a **Critical Cooling Project Lead to support UK-wide critical infrastructure projects, primarily within data centres. This hybrid role involves innovative cooling system projects (up to £2m) including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, and in-row cooling systems, alongside advisory work on liquid cooling technologies.
Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and customers, your focus will be on ensuring project efficiency, customer satisfaction, and smooth delivery of technical and service-oriented work.
Key Responsibilities
Project Support
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of cooling projects from initiation to completion, aligning with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
- Manage projects on critical cooling systems (capacity: 1–2.5 MW).
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
Service Delivery
- Oversee maintenance and breakdown services for existing contracts.
- Provide timely on-call and reactive support for critical cooling systems.
- Monitor service performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Support
- Offer expertise on chillers, CRAC/CRAH, and in-row cooling systems, working alongside Schneider’s cooling specialists.
- Support advisory capabilities in emerging cooling technologies.
- Assist field and back-office teams with technical and logistical queries.
Stakeholder Management
- Foster strong partnerships with customer teams, field engineers, and project colleagues to deliver solutions tailored to business needs.
Person Specification
Technical Requirements
- Strong foundation in refrigeration or critical cooling systems (expertise in chillers, CRAC, CRAH environments).
- Solid knowledge of critical infrastructure technologies, ideally data centre cooling systems.
Project Experience
- Experience supporting infrastructure projects (or ability to transition into a project support role with cooling fundamentals).
- Proven ability to align technical solutions with customer-facing planning.
Attitude & Ability
- Flexibility: Ready to travel (~50% coverage) across the UK, including occasional stays.
- Communication: Bridges technical complexity for non-technical teams and clients.
