Overview
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As a CO+I Critical Environment Program Manager - Business Operations, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.
Our infrastructure is comprised of a large global portfolio of more than 200 datacenters in 32 countries and millions of servers. Our foundation is built upon and managed by a team of subject matter experts working to support services for more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses in over 90 countries worldwide.

Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Financial Controllership & Governance: Provide thought leadership and subject matter expertise across datacenter financials, ensuring accuracy, forecasting discipline, compliance, and sound financial controls. Commercial & Contract Management: Own the financial and commercial management of site contracts, including PO governance, invoice reviews, and spend oversight in close partnership with vendors and field operations. Spend & Performance Management: Prepare and deliver quarterly spend management reviews, track maintenance and repair activities, and proactively assess financial performance against plans and forecasts. Cost Optimization & Strategic Initiatives: Identify cost-saving opportunities and lead strategic projects to realize efficiencies while balancing short‑term needs with long‑term operational impact. Operational Partnership & Stakeholder Alignment: Work closely with datacenter field operations and cross‑functional stakeholders, leveraging local SME knowledge and best practices to optimize service delivery and SLA outcomes. Process Improvement & Adaptive Execution: Drive continuous improvement of processes, services, and operating models by managing ambiguity, influencing without authority, and adapting plans to evolving business priorities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent AND industry experience OR industry experience and college course work. Experience with industry program and project management skills. Experience with reporting and data analysis systems, Management accounting & platforms (e.g. PowerBI).
Background Check Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

While not required, we also look for the following Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in Critical Environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU) or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling). Technical College degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field. Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP. Experience with critical environment maintenance and repair cost management Experience working with collaboration platforms (e.g. SharePoint, MS Teams etc.)
