I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Your Background
- 5+ years of CRM or lifecycle marketing experience, ideally within a consumer tech, marketplace, or high-growth digital business.
- Proven track record of owning a CRM platform end-to-end (e.g. OneSignal, MoEngage, Klaviyo) — you have been the go-to person for how the tool works, what it can do, and how to get the most out of it.
- Deep hands-on experience across email, push notifications, and in-app messaging — you know what good looks like in each channel and how they work together.
- Strong grasp of segmentation, personalisation, and behavioural triggers — you build journeys grounded in customer data, not assumptions.
- Experience building or evolving measurement frameworks, including A/B testing, hold-out groups, and incrementality analysis.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, and Data teams — you can translate marketing goals into technical briefs and earn trust with non-marketing stakeholders.
- A confident communicator who can present strategy, share results, and make a compelling case for investment.
Key Skills
- Strategic thinking — you can zoom out to set direction and zoom in to execute with precision.
- Platform ownership — you take full accountability for your CRM tools and continuously push to get more from them.
- Data literacy — you are comfortable with dashboards, attribution models, and the numbers behind your decisions.
- Test-and-learn mindset — you ship fast, measure honestly, and scale what works without ego.
- Stakeholder influence — you know how to bring people with you, whether that’s a peer in Product or a senior leader who needs a business case.
- Prioritisation — you focus on the 20% of effort that drives 80% of the impact and protect your time accordingly.
