Experience Optimisation Lead
The Role
UNRVLD is looking for an experienced Experience Optimisation Lead to sit at the heart of our evolving Experience Optimisation practice. You will:
- Grow and manage a team of XO Consultants
- Own day-to-day delivery quality
- Act as the senior practitioner on our most complex client accounts
This is a hands-on leadership role with a genuinely modern brief. You will act as the connective tissue between strategic direction (set by the Head of Experience Optimisation) and implementation (delivered by the XO Consultant team). You will:
- Lead and run experimentation programmes
- Lead senior client relationships
- Play a central role in shaping how UNRVLD evolves the XO practice and incorporates AI across the XO service, mirroring both how we deliver internally and what we offer our clients.
Responsibilities

Own delivery quality: Manage the end-to-end process of experimentation programmes, ensuring they are:
- Rigorous
- Statistically sound
- Consistently high quality
- Invalidates scenarios where AI tools contribute to:
- Variant creation
- Research synthesis
- Results analysis

Client day-to-day management: Act as the senior on-site contact for key accounts by:
- Running and evolving strategically aligned programmes
- Presenting findings clearly and confidently to senior stakeholders
- Leading discovery of conversion opportunities via:
- Data analysis
- Hypotheses development

Embed and govern AI standards: Collaborate with the Head of XO to establish and oversee UNRVLD’s:
- AI use within delivery
- Which tools for which tasks
- Degree of human review required
- Continuous evolution of standards as the tooling landscape advances

Integrate disciplines: Work with the Head of XO to evolve:
- How analytics, CRO, SEO, and personalisation work together
- Joined-up insights
- Coordinated test planning
- Unified client narrative and optimisation roadmap

Evaluate AI tools: Assess tools relevant for XO delivery, including but not limited to:
- LLMs for research synthesis
- AI-assisted features in experimentation platforms
- ML-driven personalisation
- Provide implementation recommendations

Support proposals: Partner with Head of XO on new business pitches by:
- Shaping proposed approaches
- Contributing to programme design
- Articulating AI-driven value stream within UNRVLD’s XO proposition

Identify growth opportunities: Highlight potential enhancements or expansions in client programmes with signals reported to the Head of XO.

Team management: Line manage and develop a team of XO Consultants (with specialisations in CRO, Personalisation, and Data Analytics) by:
- Conducting 1:1s
- Reviewing work-in-progress
- Coaching in methodology
- Building team-wide AI fluency.
Requirements
Essential
- 3–5 years of demonstrated experience in CRO, experimentation, personalisation, or digital optimisation, with direct team management or leadership focus.
- Strong grasp of experimentation methodology, confidently:
- Designing tests
- Interpreting results
- Challenging statistically unsound practises.
- Practical experience with relevant AI tools, demonstrated by:
- Current, professional usage (e.g., LLMs, AI-assisted platform features)
- An articulate perspective on tools’ strengths and scrutiny needs.
- Client management experience: Comfortable in roles such as:
- Running programme reviews
- Presenting to senior stakeholders.
- Hands-on familiarity with experimentation and personalisation platforms like Sitecore, Optimizely, VWO, or comparable.
- Analytics and synthesis proficiency, including:
- GA4, or Adobe Analytics/Quantum Metrics
- Behavioural analytics platforms (HotJar, UserTesting)
- Independent mastery in pulling, synthesizing, and interpreting data.
- Collaborative style: Ability to effectively:
- Work across CRO, SEO, UX, and data/ personalisation disciplines
- Coordinate workloads with project managers.
- Proven track record in an agency context with diverse client portfolios.

Desirable
- Senior experience with AI adoption in team delivery (e.g., governing AI standards instead of mere usage).
- Machine Learning (ML) especially for decisions & personalisation differentiation, versus:
- Rules-based approaches
- Rules vs AI considerations in delivery or principle.
- SEO hands-on experience: activos working alongside SEO teams, leading to:
- Unhurried search queries enhancing in-site experience.
- Segmentation & personalisation exposure, with demonstrated capability in designing and executing programmes.
