Cross Border Engagement Operations – Senior Associate
About The Role
The Senior Associate role supports the UK/EMEA Cross Border Engagement Services (CBES) Advisory function by providing cross-border risk advice and operational support to engagement teams delivering international work.
CBES delivers end-to-end support for cross-border engagements, including upfront risk assessment and advisory across immigration, tax, labour law, social security, and security. The function also enables compliance through downstream processes and supporting tools.
This role enhances advisory capacity within the UK/EMEA team to meet increasing demand, ensuring consistent, high-quality guidance while supporting engagement delivery and helping to optimise senior advisory capacity.
What Your Days Will Look Like
Provide practical, risk-based cross-border advice and assess engagement submissions to determine scope, applicability and risk exposure. Support the engagement lifecycle by contributing to pre‑proposal risk assessments and ensuring alignment between advisory outputs and downstream delivery. Act as a key point of contact for engagement teams and stakeholders, supporting collaboration and consistent service delivery across UK and EMEA. Coordinate operational delivery, including working with vendors and contributing to continuous improvement of processes, guidance and knowledge materials.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
