What You'll Do
As an Avalara Cross-Border EMEA Product Solutions Consultant (PSC), you will play a pivotal role in the pre-sales cycle by serving as a trusted advisor to prospects and clients navigating the complexities of international trade and cross-border compliance. You will lead technical and functional scoping engagements, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and collaborate with sales, partners, and product teams to design optimal solutions for businesses operating across borders.
This is a high-impact, high-visibility role at the forefront of one of Avalara's most dynamic and fastest-growing segments. You will work with clients across the EMEA region and globally, helping businesses conquer the challenges of cross-border compliance and thrive in an increasingly interconnected marketplace.

As a Cross-Border PSC, you will be a pioneer in this evolution representing a portfolio of cutting-edge solutions that are best-in-class and continuously evolving to meet the dynamic needs of globally operating businesses.
Key Responsibilities
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Lead technical discovery calls with enterprise prospects to assess compliance needs, integration requirements, and cross-border trade complexity across jurisdictions
- Deliver compelling, impact-oriented product demonstrations tailored to the prospect's technical landscape, workflow, business model, and compliance priorities
- Translate complex regulatory and cross-border requirements into clear solution architectures leveraging Avalara's unified API, connectors, and cross-border platform
- Support RFPs/RFIs, technical documentation, and implementation scoping across a diverse EMEA prospect base
- Liaise with Product to provide real-world market feedback and support roadmap alignment based on customer insight
- Coordinate with Certified Implementation Partners (CIPs) and internal Professional Services teams to ensure implementation readiness and smooth handoffs
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global mandate roadmaps, cross-border regulations, and the evolving compliance landscape across EMEA
- Act as a subject matter expert and cross-functional resource, supporting Sales, Implementation, Support, and Product teams
- Drive feedback loops into product development, helping close product gaps and align Avalara's solutions to real customer needs

What You’ll Need To Be Successful
What Success Looks Like
- Accelerating time-to-value in cross-border sales cycles by delivering clear technical validation and driving scope alignment
- Acting as a trusted advisor to prospects, enabling scalable and future-proof compliance architectures
- Consistently contributing to pipeline conversion and deal velocity across the EMEA region
- Strengthening cross-functional relationships across Sales, Implementation, Product, and Engineering
- Driving continuous feedback that shapes Avalara's cross-border product roadmap
Required Qualifications
- 4+ years in a pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical product role, preferably within cross-border trade, compliance automation, ecommerce, or adjacent solutions
- Strong understanding of cross-border compliance frameworks, international trade regulations, global marketplace dynamics, shipping & logistics
- Experience with APIs, integration design, or solution architecture
- Experience with ecommerce platforms (Shopify, Adobe, BigCommerce, Woo) and cross-border or compliance integrations
- Experience with ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics)
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and demo delivery skills with the ability to engage both technical and business stakeholders
- Previous experience supporting multinational enterprise sales cycles across EMEA
- Ability to convey complex technical information with confidence and clarity to diverse audiences
- Strong organizational skills; ability to manage multiple stakeholders and technical threads across complex, multi-jurisdictional sales cycles
- Results-oriented and self-motivated, with a demonstrated track record of achievement in the cross-border or international trade domain
