We are an all-inclusive child care and early learning organisation operating in multiple locations across Melbourne’s East. Role Overview

As an Early Childhood Educator at Choklits, you will play a crucial role in creating a positive and enriching learning environment for children aged 0-5. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the planning and implementing educational programs
  • Promoting the health and safety of both children and our team
  • Building positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of our service
  • Actively supporting children’s agency, choices, and influence in the program

Requirements

  • Relevant qualifications in accordance with Education and Care Services National Regulations
  • Diploma of Children’s Services or Cert 111 or equivalent
  • Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) card
  • Medical clearance
  • First aid training as prescribed in the Education and Care Services National Law Act

  • Ensured the health and safety of all children and staff
  • Fostered positive relationships with all stakeholders
  • Maintained compliance with regulations and standards

Our Services

Choklits offers long day care, early learning, and Victorian Government-funded kindergarten for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. That includes our nursery for babies, toddler rooms, pre-kinder, and three-year-old and four-year-old kinder programs. Every child also has access to our CHOKLITS+ programs including music, yoga, sport, messy play, cooking, language classes, library visits, and weekly bush kinder at no extra cost.

Locations

Choklits has three centres across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs: Surrey Hills, Ringwood, and Croydon. Our Ringwood and Croydon centres have cared for local families for more than 26 years. Each centre serves families from the surrounding suburbs, including Ringwood North, Ringwood East, Wantirna, Mitcham, Vermont, Box Hill, Mont Albert, Balwyn, Camberwell, Croydon North, Croydon Hills, Warranwood, Mooroolbark, and Lilydale. Operating Hours

Our centres are open Monday to Friday with long day care hours designed to suit working families. Specific opening and closing times vary slightly by location, so please contact your local centre or check the relevant centre page for exact hours.

Our Team

Choklits has a team of over 120 qualified early childhood educators, kindergarten teachers, allied health professionals, chefs, and specialist program leaders across our three centres. We prioritise long-term relationships, and many of our educators have been with us for years, which means your child is cared for by familiar, trusted faces day after day.

Our Ringwood and Croydon centres have cared for local families for more than 26 years, and we’ve since grown to include our Surrey Hills centre.
