Role Description
The Crushing & Screening Engineer is a full-time, National role with head office based in Darlington, responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of crushing and screening equipment.

Day-to-Day Tasks

- Setting up plant machinery
- Conducting routine inspections
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Performing corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
- Monitoring production performance
- Adjusting equipment settings for optimal output and product quality
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with safety procedures and industry standards
- Collaborating with site supervisors and colleagues
- Maintaining accurate service records
- Supporting continuous improvement in efficiency and reliability
Frequent travel to other sites will be required to support operations across the region.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills related to heavy plant, crushing, screening, and heavy mobile equipment, with experience in fault-finding and repairs.
- Proficiency in equipment setup, calibration, and performance
- Commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices, with the ability to follow and promote safe systems of work on site.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with site staff, supervisors, and external partners.
- Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in engineering, plant maintenance, or a related discipline; experience in quarrying or aggregates is an advantage.
- A basic ability to weld with Mig and Tig
- Ability to work in a physically demanding outdoor environment, use tools and diagnostic equipment safely, and manage time and priorities independently.
- Full UK driving license and flexibility to travel to different sites as required.
